I got scammed $18K so I thought in the best interests better warn others
since I didn't know.
There are many internet dating sites such as www.afroromance.com and
www.afrointroductions.com with allegedly lots of African and Asian ( and all
over the world to be honest ) many are sincere MANY are not. This is about
the ones that are not.
Typical scenario
You chat online to one of these girls and plan to meet up ( since virtual
dating at some point needs to become real )
Various "problems" occur with these women,
1) their aunty ( or other family member ) becomes ill and "since you love
me" is implied your expected to pay for the hospital treatment ( since poor
Africans can't afford it
2) they can't get the visa after multiple tries, this cost includes travel
to embassy, hotel costs, phone costs, agent costs etc...
3) the money you sent them is conveniently lost when they are mugged in
transit
4) they are living and oh dear they can't afford next months rent
5) various mishaps occur, their business ( or family members ) business gets
burnt down and no income
6) they have to pay a expensive agent $1000's for that ever illusive visa
7) you fly out there ... oh dear a relative has died and oh dear they
couldn't meet you ( but ever so nicely , they arrange for you to be mugged
by a fellow scammer in a airport taxi, they take 50% the robber takes 50% )
Basically if you can think it could go wrong it would, and it ALWAYS ends up
costing you MONEY , and they use emotional blackmail to try to get more out
of you.
all these ( mostly WEST AFRICANS ) scammers, are total frauds, it a simple
MONEY for the HOPE of love, they make $1000's of you,
whets worse OFTEN they are not even single, they're married people, who
pretend to be cousins.
and if they DO arrive, you find them in your wallet or hiding things and
stealing things
those photos they send you are of someone else
they're 5'11 50kg ... forget it they're 4'9 100kg and really undesirable
SOLUTION : AVOID these scammers ( the money is often used for crime ), find
a LOCAL person or somewhere close to home or from a list of safe and richer
countries ( and less corrupt )
WARNING : Never enter into financial dealings with ANY west Africans (
unless it involves oil ), you ALWAYS loose
Funnily enough after talking to friends we soon realise the VAST nature of
this scam
